About Us

With approximately 15,000 members, the Pennsylvania Army National Guard (PAARNG), a reserve component of the United States Army, plays an important role in the nation’s defense and supporting the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in times of need.

The PAARNG is one of the largest of the 54 states and territories Army National Guards. The Army National Guard is overseen by the National Guard Bureau located in Washington D.C. The National Guard is headed by the Chief of the National Guard Bureau, one of the seven Joint Chiefs of Staff.

The Pennsylvania Army National Guard Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Program is a PAARNG high school enrichment program. This program provides a school enrichment program that bridges the gap between the classroom and real word military scenarios for an outside of the classroom learning initiative.
